Bulldog Security Post Range

Date: 5th November 2003
Ref: LC180J

With the ever increasing need to provide more security for caravans when parked up and left un-attended Bulldog has increased its range of specialist security posts. These can be divided into two types; those for simple blocking of a potential thieves route or the even more specialised hitch type post for caravans and trailers.

Of the former type Bulldog has three main products. The SA5 Drive Post is constructed from 1 metre length of 70mm square steel box section, 5mm thick and powder coated bright yellow, which engages 300mm into a receiver socket concreted into the driveway. The post is locked in place with a Bulldog Super Bolt and when removed flush fitting cover plates are used to fill the openings. For wider drives or to protect door ways from ram raiders the SA6 Anti Ram Barrier can be used which is effectively two SA5 posts with the same locking mechanism and a bridging cross bar to give a unit that stands 0.7m tall and 1.14m wide. Alternatively the Bulldog TE100 Telescopic Post can be utilised. As its name suggests, when not in use this 90mm diameter galvanised steel post drops completely flush into the ground. In its raised position it is again locked with a Bulldog Super Lock Bolt for high security and stands 860mm above the ground.

The hitch post range consists of three models dependent on use. The SA7 Fixed Hitch Post is a simple concrete in the ground post from 70mm square steel section, with a 5mm wall thickness and finished in yellow powder coating. On to the top of this post is a 50mm case hardened dummy hitch ball onto which the caravan or trailer is coupled and the hicth head locked in place with a Bulldog Minilock to prevent the hitch head handle being released.

Should you require the post to be removable then the SA7L Removable Hitch Post offers a solution. Constructed in a similar manner to the SA7 this post uses the same locking mechanism as the SA5 with a receiver socket, Bulldog Super Lock Bolt and cover plate giving the opportunity to not only hitch on to the post but also provides an obstruction to the thief.

Any 50mm hitch head can be locked onto the SA7 or SA7L providing the correct model Bulldog Minilock is used.

Another latch in the ground hitch post is the Bulldog Bayonet Post. This circular steel section is designed to simply twist into a locking socket in the ground and once the standard 50mm coupling head is locked onto the dummy hitch ball removal is not possible.
